The University of Texas Permian Basin welcomes applicants for the position of Associate Director of Admission Technology. The Associate Director reports to the Vice President of Enrollment Management and serves as the primary point of contact for Admissions staff and others throughout the university to provide support for all things related to the Technolutions Slate CRM, and other admissions-related technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, and updating all areas of the CRM to support the recruitment, yield, and enrollment of incoming undergraduate and graduate students. The incumbent will also maintain the Slate system throughout the admission cycle from prospect to enrollment, including the development of e-mail campaigns and other student communications, the management of user security, support for applicant and portal/web functions, the creation of reports and documentation, and training for users/staff. Utilizing the Slate CRM system, the Associate Director provides correct and actionable information to Admissions staff in a timely fashion. The Associate Director is additionally responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of data between Slate and PeopleSoft through close collaboration with the IT staff, and works collaboratively with departments throughout the university to manage, administer, and deploy Slate.

The starting salary range for this position is $50,000 – $65,000 per year, depending upon qualifications.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversees the implementation and maintenance of software and technology in the Office of Admissions for both the undergraduate and graduate student populations
• Designs details for full utilization and implementation of features in Slate and develops solutions involving process design, data information and architecture, and policy and procedural change • Oversees and directs creation of and deployment of all communication campaigns within Slate (especially email and text) to ensure proactive and timely outreach to students at all stages of the enrollment funnel • Manages the importing, exporting, and updating of all student data in Slate and ensures the accuracy and consistency of data within Slate, PeopleSoft, and other systems
• Builds and updates all Slate-hosted applications and forms • Manages events within Slate • Implements Slate tools that enable the admissions staff to manage their territories effectively, efficiently, and strategically • Serves as the point of contact for individual Slate questions • Plans and executes unit integration and end-user acceptance testing and leads staff in testing systems and updates
• Manages queries and creates reports for the purpose of measuring, analyzing, and assessing admission data and results
• Develops intuitive interface designs for end-users, trains staff on use and maximization of Slate functionality, and leads on-going training and professional development of users throughout the institution • In conjunction with admission counselors, recommends strategies and plans to address opportunities and gaps in the enrollment funnel with the aim of increasing inquiries and converting more of these to applications, and ultimately to enrolled students • Manages the loading of data into UTPB systems, e.g., inquiries, name lists, SAT/ACT scores, etc.
• Works closely with IT staff at UTPB as well as the UT System to ensure proper maintenance of admissions-related technological systems • Partners across the university’s admissions and financial aid departments to ensure accurate and efficient flow of applicant data Additional responsibilities: • Works with Enrollment Management and Institutional Research staff to develop and manage targeted research, including enrollment projections, financial aid models, and territory recruitment reports • Serves as the primary technical liaison to external partners • Streamlines processes, document workflows, and finds opportunities for operational efficiencies within and between departments across the admission lifecycle
• Assists with the admissions operation including participation at admissions and recruitment events (e.g., open houses, admitted student days, virtual information sessions, etc.)
• Represents Admissions in university-wide meetings and/or committees as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of two (2) years of work experience with admissions technology directly related to student recruitment and admissions
• Demonstrated experience with configuration and reporting of information systems
• Experience with data reporting and analysis
• Strong critical thinking and analytical kills
• The ability to successfully complete a criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with Slate
• Previous experience with PeopleSoft
• Degree in computer science
• Master’s degree
