RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 
The successful candidate will teach the following courses for all required theatre majors; Intro to Theatre (majors/minors only), Theatre History & Literature (I, II, III) and Script Analysis. The candidate will also teach the following elective courses on a rotating basis; The American Stage, Contemporary Theatre History & Literature and World Theatre Studies. A demonstrated ability to teach playwriting, dramaturgy, musical theatre history, American ethnic theatre, non-western theatre, women in theatre, theatre for young audiences, or another specialty, is a plus. Strong interpersonal communication skills, collaboration, and mentoring skills are required. Candidate will be required to advise students and serve on departmental and university committees. Candidate may also be given the opportunity to direct productions as part of the NSU production season. Additional duties may be assigned by the Theatre/Dance Department Chair. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 
A terminal degree in theatre, publications, and the ability to work with diverse student populations and entry level students is required. 

Preferred: 
Ph.D. in Theatre History and Literature, experience in Directing, and previous university teaching experience.

RANK AND SALARY: Rank is at the Assistant Professor level and salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
