Doctoral Faculty, Media Psychology 

Location: any location in the United States 

Reports to: Media Psychology Program Director 

Position: Regular, Full Time FLSA Status: Exempt 

 

Applications for Doctoral Faculty in Media Psychology will be accepted for consideration until the position has been filled. Position begins January 4, 2021.

QUALIFICATIONS 

We seek scholar-practitioners who are at least 3 years post PhD in psychology who have taught at the graduate level, supervised doctoral dissertations, and have an active research program with a record of research/scholarly publications in media psychology. Faculty members supervise doctoral dissertations, teach course seminars that mix virtual and face to face interactions, and offer in person seminars at two 7-10 day long residential events per year (note that all courses are currently taught at a distance due to the pandemic). Faculty also serve as advisors to PhD students. Candidates who wish to be considered for this doctoral faculty position must be able to show proof of the right to work in the U.S.

 

Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD in cognitive psychology who can teach research courses and courses that integrate cognitive and media psychology. We are particularly interested in applicants with successful experience in teaching, research or scholarship, and applied work in areas related to the interface of cognitive and media psychology, such as interactive media, virtual and augmented reality, gaming, social technologies, educational technology or other forms of mediated experience with attention to topics related to social justice, social impact, and marginalized groups. Doctoral faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of research and scholarship as well as participate in program and university committees. To fulfill our goal of a more diverse faculty, preference will be given to candidates who have not earned their doctorate degree from Fielding.
