The College of Juvenile Justice & Psychology at Prairie View A&M University invites applications for the positions of Associate/Assistant Professor in Psychology. The Assistant/Associate Professor for psychology will teach full time nine months mostly graduate level courses though at times may teach an undergraduate course, engage in research and publication of research findings
The College of Juvenile Justice and Psychology and the Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center are committed to excellence in education, training, prevention and service. By offering a diverse curriculum, the College trains empiricists, educators and practitioners in juvenile justice and psychology. A primary aim is to assist with the understanding of human behavior and the reduction of juvenile offending in Texas. Faculty and staff of the College work to nurture the passion that students bring with them: a desire to make a substantial positive mark in the world. The investment in whole person development includes assisting students to locate and succeed in internships, employment, graduate and professional schools, community service engagement and youth and family outreach. The College continues to build its research infrastructure in response to the relevant issues in criminal justice and youth mental health. The Center offers programming and serves as a resource to the state's youth, families and practitioners in juvenile justice and related fields.

Qualifications: Interested applicants for the Assistant or Associate Professor Clinical Psychology must have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, must be a Texas- licensed psychologist or near eligible for such licensure in the state of Texas, and be able to guide students in quantitative research. ABD's who will have the degree in hand before the start date or a negotiated period will be considered with one year of college or university teaching.
