The Department of URP consists of a small, collegial faculty of fourteen full-time members. As one of two units in the School of Landscape Architecture and Planning, the Department of URP offers an undergraduate minor, accredited online and on-campus delivery of a Master’s degree in urban and regional planning, and a Ph.D. concentration.  URP has a strong relationship with the Department of Landscape Architecture as well as other units in the College of Design, Construction and Planning (DCP). DCP also offers degree programs in Architecture, Construction Management, Interior Design, Historic Preservation and Sustainability. The University of Florida is ranked No. 6 among the nation’s public universities in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges 2019 list.  Our position as a major research university in an AAU institution creates opportunities for our program and its faculty to develop a national and international reputation for planning-related research on issues that showcase Florida and the Southeastern United States as a living laboratory with implications for national and international planning.
