The university offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate programs leading to degrees through the doctorate in nine colleges and schools. Our campuses in Charlotte, N.C., San Francisco, Seattle, and Toronto are regional platforms for undergraduate and graduate learning and collaborative research. Northeastern pursues advanced research in security and materials at the Innovation Campus in Burlington, Massachusetts, and in coastal sustainability at the Marine Science Center in Nahant, Massachusetts.

In particular, this includes designing an overarching plan to address the computing infrastructure needs of the department balancing performance, equipment and maintenance costs. The role includes strategic leadership, infrastructure architecture and design including financial analysis, and project management. To facilitate the compute-intense research, the Assistant Director is responsible to assist researchers in the planning/dimensioning and acquisition of specialized HPC systems, as well as strategically leading a team to ensure their efficient operation and maintenance. The Assistant Director strategically coordinates with university and college resources to realize department's IT projects efficiently and cost effectively.
