Job Description

General responsibilities include: coordinates all aspects of programming (except gender-based violence focused programs) to students, staff and faculty for the Women’s Center including program design, implementation, supervision, and assessment of Women’s Center efforts aimed at advocacy and educating the university community on gender, women’s issues, diversity, equity and social justice. Provides leadership to centerwide programming related to equity, wellness, leadership, and community-building. Programming may include speaker series, book groups, wellness programs, leadership workshops, salary negotiation workshops, networking opportunities, and more. Coordinates the university’s Women’s Month activities for the month of March. Assists, as needed, the center’s gender-based violence prevention efforts. Responsible for developing programs aimed at supporting identified populations such as women of color, LGBTQ+ communities, international communities, and others. Coordinates program design, resource allocation, and implementation timeline for educational programs and events. Works closely with the Co-Director for Programming and the Special Projects Coordinator on efforts related to programming and educational outreach. Coordinates outreach and marketing efforts to university and off-campus communities including center brochures, newsletter, social media, website and other web-based materials and platforms. Develops and implements publicity plans and PR materials for all program areas. Coordinates collaborative program efforts with university and off-campus offices. With the Co-Director for Programming, prepares budgetary, programmatic and assessment reports.

Supervisor of Non-Professional Staff: may include work study students and volunteers, undergraduate and graduate student interns, service learning students, field placement students, and others as needed for programming and special projects.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an academic or professional field;
• Demonstrated experience in the delivery of educational programs and outreach initiatives;
• Excellent communication skills, including written and public speaking;
• Experience with graphic design, social media administration and/or web development;
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse people on complex and potentially sensitive issues; and
• Demonstrated commitment to intersectional women’s and gender issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of multicultural and diversity programming aimed at improving work and learning climates for students, staff, and faculty; and
• Experience in a higher education setting.
