Position Summary:

The Protocol Activation Coordinator (PAC) will join the Office of Clinical Research (OCR) in the Department of Surgery. Under the direction of the Research Program Manager, the incumbent will maintain knowledge of institutional research compliance guidelines, clinical research principles and specific study guidelines in order to effectively serve as project manager for the initiation of new clinical trials. The incumbent must have superior oral and written communication skills as they interface with investigators, clinical research staff, study sponsors, and other collaborators to identify, collect and disseminate financial and protocol information. Strong project management, organizational and critical thinking skills are required for success in the complex, fast-paced, highly regulated, and continually changing clinical research environment. The incumbent must be able to handle multiple competing projects simultaneously while working independently using initiative and good judgment.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree is required; preferred focus in biological or health sciences, health care, business or related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

-Experience in clinical research preferred
-Medical terminology proficiency and/or experience in a clinical setting preferred
Prefix assignment will be determined by years of relevant work experience. A minimum of seven years of experience is required for appointment at the senior level.
