This senior position will be instrumental in leveraging the latest technologies to ensure an expanding research data center’s continuing record of achievement. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, creation, maintenance and administration of computing and database operations at the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse ( TRAC ). Must be able to ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies. Position involves specialized data management work, handling a diverse array of information sources.


Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information systems, or related field and requires 10 year plus relevant experience.

Master’s preferred

Job Specific Qualifications

Must have analytical thinking and ability to concentrate on task, project management experience as well as specialized expertise and technical training with:
- In-depth knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch);

- Proficiency in program languages including C, Python, JavaScript, PHP, SAS, Perl and the Java/J2EE platform;

- Experience with various operating systems (Solaris, multiple flavors of Linux, Windows);

- Extensive experience in applications development, data mining and data warehousing;

- Application of information security/information assurance policies.


Provides specialized data management work involving the design, architecture, creation, maintenance and administration of computerized databases.

Ensures the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of data management services.

Implements and administers data mining and data warehousing programs while developing innovative strategies, processes, and incorporating best practices.

Maintains, monitors, performance tunes, back up, and recovers databases.

Facilitates bulk data transfers and manages systems.
