Job Summary
The Dean of Students & Learner Engagement will provide leadership for the division of Learner Engagement consistent with the vision and mission of the college. Included with this is the development of strategic goals, resources, planning and allocation, and assessment of the action plans of these critical areas. Additionally, the dean will work with faculty, staff and students on issues related to student discipline or grievance matters.
The division of Learner Engagement includes Access Services, Career/Transfer, CLEAR, Counseling/Advising, Student Life, Student’s Rights & Responsibilities, and Success Advocates. The dean reports to the Vice President of Student Success & Engagement and will collaborate with the Dean of Enrollment Services on building systems for student success.
Required Qualifications
• Master’s degree in relevant field
• Substantial management experience in student services (5 years min.)
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret higher education policy
• Experience implementing enterprise systems for student success
• Ability to lead and engage groups through project implementation
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
Preferred Qualifications
• Doctorate degree
• Student Services leadership experience at the community college level
• Previous experience in Title IX and student conduct
