General Description of Position

Under the general direction of the Arts & Sciences Division Administrative Assistant II or the Instructional Division Executive Administrative Assistant, the part-time administrative assistant maintains a workable, functioning office. This position will provide administrative support for the Dean of Arts & Sciences and the faculty and staff in the Lincoln Division Office. Duties for this position include but are not limited to: answering the phone, answering routine questions, handling correspondence, processing and distributing mail, preparing reports, filing, maintaining division records, greeting and assisting visitors, staff, and students. This position requires the use of independent judgments in making decisions according to standard policies and procedures.

This position is a maximum of 1040 hours per year. Hours of work will routinely be scheduled from 4:00-8:00 pm Monday-Thursday and hours on Friday but may be flexible as determined by the needs of the division. Scheduled hours of work could be between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

1) High School graduate or GED .
2) Two (2) years administrative assistant/clerical experience or one (1) year office experience plus one (1) year of formal education/ training in a related discipline.

Desired Qualifications

1) AAS degree in a post-secondary secretarial/office education program.
2) Experience in an educational setting.

Salary

$15.12/hr
