The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Houston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure-track) position. We are seeking exceptional candidates in all research areas. We are especially interested in healthcare systems, advanced computing, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.



The department is seeking outstanding candidates with the potential for exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty, graduate, and undergraduate student populations. The anticipated start date for this position is September 1, 2021. Applicants must already possess an earned doctorate in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related scientific field at the time of application.

UH is a Carnegie Tier One public research university that is located on a park-like campus a few minutes from the Houston city center. The ECE department currently has 36 tenure-track faculty, 4 full-time research faculty, and 3 instructional faculty, with 1 NAE member, 2 NAI Fellows, 7 IEEE Fellows, and Fellows of OSA, AIMBE, SAE, APS, AAAS, FRSC(UK), and other distinctions. The department is home to multiple NSF Centers, Industry/University consortia, and a state-of-the-art nanofabrication facility.
