Dean College is perfectly situated in Franklin, Massachusetts, which is conveniently located between Boston and Providence, Rhode Island and is accessible to Boston by commuter rail. The Dean College/Franklin station is only a five-minute walk from campus. Approximately 90 percent of the College's student population live on campus.

The Resident Director is responsible for facilitating a living and learning environment that is conducive to the personal development and academic achievement of all residents. This is a 9-month position paid over 12 months, up to 20 hours per week, live-in position contingent upon yearly evaluations by the Director of Residence Life. On-call responsibilities would take place for 12 months. Housing is provided 12 months
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and cultural competence with the ability to work with and support diverse groups of students;
- Establish a daytime and evening presence through 20 weekly open-door hours in the building through programming, and meetings with students;
- Communicate regularly with residents through individual interaction and community meetings, making appropriate referrals to other resources as needed;
- Serve as part of the Resident Director (RD) duty rotation;
- Assist students in understanding and adhering to COVID-19 guidelines, as well as the College's rules and regulations in the Housing Agreement and Student Code of Conduct through educational meetings and conversations;
- Availability for:
- Bi-Weekly Residence Life Meetings
- Weekly One-One with supervisor
- Weekly check in with each resident by conducing Door to Door visits.
- Monthly virtual Hall Meetings
- Organize and coordinate social programs with the students following the Residence Life programming model;
- Supervise Community Advisor Staff living in assigned residence halls;
- Manages all operational aspects of the assigned hall, including opening and closing, occupancy management, maintenance, health and safety inspections, and damage billing;
- Participation in New Student Orientation;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required;
- Previous experience in residence life is a plus;
- Knowledge of issues pertaining to college life;
- Commitment and ability to create and maintain a diverse, multicultural community;
- Demonstrated experience in multicultural issues with a focus on education and training;
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, intervention and crisis management skills;
- Must be computer literate;
- Must have a valid Driver's License.

- College will pay for apartment utilities, including, cable, heating, water, electrical & local telephone service;
- Resident Directors are afforded use of all College facilities (when available);

The Dean College Athletics Department is a Division III member of the NCAA and competes as a member of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC), and the USCAA and complies with all NCAA Division III Rules and Regulations.
