Position Summary:

The Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) seeks a Financial Specialist Advanced to join our fiscal and grants management team within ICTR's central administration group. This position serves as a financial partner for multiple program areas within ICTR, conducting essential fiscal transactions (such as direct payments, cost transfers, funding updates, expense reconciliations, and vendor agreements), as well as providing financial leadership and guidance as one of ICTR's site managers for purchasing cards and e-reimbursements. In addition, the Financial Specialist Advanced will provide specialized financial support and guidance in support of ICTR's career development and pilot program awards, working in close collaboration with ICTR's grants manager and program leaders.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

No Degree Required. Associate Degree Preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required Qualifications
-A minimum of two years of experience in finance, accounting, and/or grants management.
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
-Strong customer service orientation (responsive to requests, deadline oriented, motivated to produce high quality work).
-Ability to work independently and effectively under general supervision, exercise good judgement, and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications
-UW experience in purchasing card site management and e-Reimbursement.
-Knowledge of HRS, Shared Financial System (SFS), WISER or WISDM, and Materials Distribution Services (MDS).
-Knowledge of state statutes, federal regulations, UW purchasing rules and policies relevant to fiscal matters, including federal grants.
