Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join a dynamic academic Department of Psychiatry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. Opportunities to teach the next generation of leaders in the medical field are a part of this position. In support of SOM’s mission and vision, the selected candidate will provide and manage direct patient care at one or more of the out-patient clinical offices located in the Southern New Jersey area.

Working collaboratively with a physician and under the clinical supervision of the Medical Director, the Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) has the responsibility for meeting the needs of a determined number of patients in the hospital for psychiatric consultations at local hospitals. The APN provides consultation to clinical staff regarding patient care issues, and may also provide patient education to meet the needs of the patient and families. Participates in a collegial relationship with the physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment for the patient's psychiatric care.

The candidate must hold the following:

• Valid NJ nursing license

• An advanced nursing degree with a concentration in adult and/or psychiatric medicine

• CDS license

• DEA license

Our clinical campus is located in Southern New Jersey, which is within the Philadelphia metropolitan area approximately eight miles from Center City Philadelphia, one hour from the Jersey Shore, and hour and a half from NYC and two hours from Washington, DC.
