The University of Washington (UW) School of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking highly motivated, board prepared/certified, academically-oriented Emergency Medicine physician with a medical doctorate (or foreign equivalent). This position serves as Assistant Program Director for the Medical Education Research Fellowship and also provides medical education for students and trainees at all levels.  As a member of the Medical Education Research Fellowship leadership team this individual must have expertise and knowledge in education theory and research.  University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Opportunities to collaborate with well-established researchers in areas such as Resuscitation, Injury Prevention, Public Health, Health Services, Pre- Hospital Care, Simulation and many others are abundant. Full-time (100% FTE) faculty may be recruited at the rank of Assistant Professor without tenure due to funding for a 12-month, multi-year period.

 

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Faculty will work at the Harborview Medical Center ED, which is the only Level I Trauma Center for a 4-state region and sees 66,000 patients per year, and the University of Washington Medical Center ED, a tertiary/quaternary care facility that sees 30,000 patients per year.
