The investment office is managed by a team of six, including investment specialists, generalists and operations staff. The Investment Operations Associate will report to the Investment Operations Manager and play an integral role in all areas of back office operations as well as collaboration in the oversight of the College’s endowment. Essential functions include setting up new investments in relevant databases, processing investment cash flows, endowment investment reporting, electronic document management, and other special projects. The associate will be required to exercise independent judgement regarding communication from investment managers, ensuring action items are processed or elevated appropriately and manager letters, risk reports and financial statements are distributed to relevant staff members and stored electronically.

Education/Skills Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/ math/economics or a related field is also preferred. Interest in endowment investing, financial markets, investment analysis and ongoing education. Strong excel skills are a plus. Applicants must possess: excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team, take initiative, understand priorities and deliver quality work; strong organizational skills; high accuracy with data entry and record keeping to maintain the integrity of electronic and historical paper files; the ability to handle a high volume of detailed work in a fast-paced office; the ability to learn relevant software programs integral to the operation of the endowment; and sensitivity to strict confidentiality of data.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

1 or more years of investment or finance related work experience preferred.

Standard Work Days and Hours

Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. This is an exempt position and requires the time commitment necessary to fulfill all of the job responsibilities.
