Position Summary:

This Research Specialist position will support the research program of Dr. Michelle Chui. The principal duties for the research specialist will be to assist with subject identification, recruitment, and data collection for research projects related to medication safety. Projects may involve interacting with both health care professionals as well as populations that use medications, such as older adults.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required. Preferably in biological sciences, social sciences or health-related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

At least one year of experience in a public health, community, or clinical health care setting is required. Previous community pharmacy background or training (i.e., pharmacy technician) desirable.
Excellent verbal and written skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint are required. Must be able to work well independently as well as on a team. The candidate should be detailed oriented, and possess excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Additional Information:

Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for recruitment and consenting participants.

Travel is required for this position. You must qualify to use a UW-Madison fleet vehicle by possessing a valid driver's license and meeting risk management standards, or have the ability to provide own transportation that meets UW-Madison risk management standards.
