Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Partner with functional area leads of the college to analyze current business practices and processes in workday systems and how technology is or can be used to support those business practices and processes. Recommend changes to improve efficiencies and implement best practices. Create reports for both internal and external consumption and coordinates state and federal reporting requirements. As part of a team, work with other business analysts to coordinate efforts in streamlining business processes and practices across functional areas. Effectively communicate system or process changes to users with varying technical knowledge.

Implement new functionality in workday as it becomes available. Work with users to determine requirements and timelines for new functionality and the impact on current processes. Responsible for quality assurance, creation of test scripts and testing execution. Work with other areas of IT, especially the software developers, to achieve these goals.

Work with functional leads to create and deliver training to college personnel in a variety of ways including written (i.e., help sheets, documentation), video (i.e., screen recordings or video help/training materials), classroom, one on one, virtual, small group or other formats.

Stay active professionally and be up to date on current and trends and technologies within their area of responsibility. Develop relationships with other colleges in Florida and around the country to foster communication of business process and practices between the various organizations. Cross train with other Business Analysts to provide backup to those positions and to have an overall understanding of the college's processes and systems.

Document and keep current, procedures and processes at the college.

Participates in required training for all technical aspects of Workday systems.

Modifies, designs and implements workday functionality in the areas of security assignments, business processes, integrations, and reports as requested by functional area leads.

Works with functional area lead to determine detailed design, development, and test plan for implementing new projects.

Works with and mentors lesser experienced programmers.

Reports program progress and programming activities to supervisor.

Estimates and plans own work under general supervision.

Works from remote locations when necessary to login and keep systems available to end users. Must provide a method of contact unless given specific authorization from supervisor to not be contacted.

Responsible for knowing and conforming to all safety practices and regulations that apply to this specific area and position. Unsafe conditions should be reported to the immediate supervisor and to the Pensacola State College Police Department/Public Safety.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to demonstrate professional and discretionary communication skills via electronic, verbal, written, and face-to-face interactions.

Must provide excellent customer service through the use of appropriate written and verbal communication including, but not limited to, using the telephone, email, voicemail, and written correspondence.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in systems science, computer science, software engineering or related field and experience as a computer programmer on large-scale computer systems in an online, multi-processing environment OR an unrelated two or four year degree with two years minimum work experience as a computer systems analyst on large-scale computer systems in an on-line, multi-processing environment. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Prefer knowledge of Workday report writer software, knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures, especially reporting to the federal government; and experience with other financial aid software (i.e. Ed-Connect and Ed-Express).

SALARY RANGE: $33,730.00 - $40,000.00
