The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in the
leadership, management and administrative functions of the
Pennsylvania Child Welfare Resource Center (CWRC). The Assistant
Director works closely with the Director of the Child Welfare
Resource Center, Principal Investigator and Chief Fiscal Officer of
the Child Welfare Education and Research Programs (CWERP), as well
as the Department Managers of the CWRC. The Assistant Director
assumes a lead role in creating the strategic direction and vision
of the Center. Co-leads planning and organizational improvement,
internal program evaluations, and coordination of the departmental
activities within the Center.
The Assistant Director, along with the Director, develops and
maintains relationships with key child welfare stakeholders,
including county child welfare directors and the Department of
Human Services, and the Office of Children, Youth, and Families.
The Assistant Director provides supervision to Department Managers,
assists in the assessment of operations, functions and services
provided by the Child Welfare Resource Center and is responsible
for leading the Center in the absence of the Director. Master’s
degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or other Human
Services related field required. MSW degree preferred Excellent
leadership, interpersonal, writing, collaboration, problem-solving,
planning/organizing, and management skills required. Must have
competency in the child welfare field, organizational change,
project management, implementation science, adult education and
program evaluation. Experience working with ethnically and
culturally diverse populations
preferred. Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in child welfare
and the provision of training/technical assistance are
required.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the supervision and
management of staff is required. The University of Pittsburgh is an
