Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Penn State Harrisburg, School of Science, Engineering, and Technology (SSET) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering with a Fall Semester 2021 starting date. We are seeking exceptional candidates in all areas of Mechanical Engineering, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in any of the following areas: Robotics, Automation and Controls, Manufacturing and Design.

  • should be qualified to teach and develop courses in the core curriculum of the mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering technology programs
  • are expected to engage in research and scholarly activities, participate in school/College/University and professional service, assist with ABET accreditation processes, and advise students
  • should demonstrate excellent communication skills, potential to perform lab development activities, and the ability to foster graduate and undergraduate research

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering no later than at the time of appointment.
