Saint Francis University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position in Performing Arts- Technical Theatre for The Center for Fine Arts in the School of STEAM starting Fall of 2021.

This position is responsible for teaching traditional undergraduate courses in technical theatre, including but not limited to: history, theory, criticism, acting, design, or technical theatre.  The successful candidate would be responsible for curriculum/program development and implementation; advising students, providing scenic, lighting, sound, or costume designs or mentoring student designers for theatre, dance and other presentations as needed; engage in outreach and recruitment activities; direct at least one production a semester. 

MA or MFA in Theatre required, PhD in Theatre preferred. Minimum of two years successfully teaching in the discipline required, two years teaching at the college level preferred.  Graduate level coursework in scenic design and construction, lighting design, sound design, makeup design for theatre preferred.  Experience working as a designer and/or technical director in theatre a plus.  Knowledge of and ability to teach current and emerging entertainment technologies such as LED technologies, moving light and intelligent light operations.  Experience leading a production team.  Experience teaching and working with online educational platforms (ie. Canvas Learning System). Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others is a must.  Willingness to serve on School of STEAM and University Committees is required. Ability to work with all individuals of a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background, including those with disabilities.
