Computer Science & Engineering Tenure-Track Faculty Positions at Wright State University

 

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Wright State University, Dayton OH, is home to 22 full-time faculty members, over 600 undergraduate, and 170 graduate students including 46 PhD students, as of Fall 2020.  We offer B.S. programs in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology and Cyber Security; a B.A. program in Computer Science; M.S. programs in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Cyber Security; and Ph.D. program in Computer Science and Engineering. Our Bachelor of Science in computer science program has been named among the best in the nation by the U.S. News & World Report. The National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security have designated Wright State University as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education through academic year 2025 for the Master of Science in Cyber Security with Cyber Defense Concentration.

The department seeks highly motivated, student-focused candidates for full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor positions.  We value experience and interest in project-based, active learning and curriculum development; the ability to contribute through service and leadership to the department and our community; and demonstrated ability to establish a robust research program and to collaborate with other academic, government, and industry researchers.  The Department has internationally recognized research programs in numerous fields including artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, visualization and virtual reality, and cyber security.  Strong candidates in all research domains are encouraged to apply. Exceptional candidate in the area of advanced data management and analysis may have the opportunity to be considered for the title of LexisNexis Ohio Eminent Scholar with access to additional funding to support the eminent scholar’s research and teaching activities.

Qualified candidates must have earned the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related area by the position start date. Associate Professor must also have a minimum of five years postdoctoral experience and must meet the criteria requirements to come in at the level of Associate Professor per the department bylaws.
