Alfred University seeks applicants for the position of Bursar. Reporting to the Controller, the Bursar is responsible for supervising the University’s student accounts receivable and associated collection activities as well as cash receipts and loan repayment functions. The individual will serve as the FAE (Functional Area Expert) for Banner Student Accounts Receivable, Housing modules and CASHNet System. The Bursar is responsible for developing and maintaining appropriate internal controls and procedures. Successful applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in business, MIS or accounting with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience and strong accounting/finance background. Additional requirements include: a strong work ethic, articulate, integrity, and sound judgment, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work with various stakeholders across the institution. Strong database and spreadsheet proficiency required; demonstrated knowledge of Banner and CASHNet system a plus.
