Working Title: Assistant Professor of Mathematics Official Title: Assistant Professor Employment Class: Faculty FTE: 1.0 Compensation: Competitive FLSA Status: Exempt Terms of Employment: Tenure-Track Position Summary: The Mathematics Department at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites applications for a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant Professor level, to start September 1, 2021. Successful candidates will teach general education mathematics and statistics courses and upper-level courses in statistics, and take leading roles in the department's curriculum development efforts in the area of data science. In addition, they will maintain active programs of scholarly research and publication in statistics, data science, or a related field, and provide service to the department, college, university, and the profession. Responsibilities Qualifications Required:

• A Ph.D. in Statistics or Data Science, or a Ph.D. in Mathematics with a thesis topic in Statistics, Data Science, or a related field (degree expected or earned by August 2021).
• At least two years of experience teaching undergraduate statistics and/or mathematics (may include graduate TA experience).
• A demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and student success.
• An interest and ability in teaching general education and upper-level statistics courses.
• A commitment to curriculum development and assessment.
• A well-articulated agenda for scholarship and professional development, including peer-reviewed research.

Preferred: • Expertise or teaching experience in data-driven courses, data analytics, or data science.
• Demonstrated interest in working collaboratively with other departments in developing undergraduate data science curriculum.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in building collaborative relationships with local industries.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in guiding undergraduate research projects. To Apply:
