Position Summary

The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences in the School of Public Health and Health Professions ( SPHHP ) is recruiting a state-funded, 10-month Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the Occupational Therapy Program. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching, scholarship and service mission of the program. Duties may include teaching lecture and laboratory courses; overseeing service learning in the community; mentoring students in clinical research projects, advising students; and contributing to ongoing curriculum quality improvement.

Knowledge of higher education and contemporary clinical practice are essential along with research experience and excellent communication skills. Experience in physical disabilities, mental health, management and/or community-based practice are preferred.

The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at UB has a longstanding history of excellence in clinical education in programs leading to the Doctor of Physical Therapy, the BS/MS in Occupational Therapy, and the PhD in Rehabilitation Science, with a post professional OTD program in development. The PT and OT entry-level programs have enjoyed continuous accreditation for more than 60 years. The OT program is highly competitive with a class-size of approximately 50 students, and received a full 10-year accreditation from ACOTE in 2017. Minimum Qualifications

• Earned post-professional doctoral degree
• Current Occupational Therapist, Registered ( OTR )
• Eligible for New York Occupational Therapy licensure
• Knowledge of higher education and contemporary clinical are essential along with research experience and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in physical disabilities, mental health, management and/or community-based practice are preferred
