Assistant Professor of Computing: Software Engineering Emphasis
The ETSU Department of Computing seeks a tenure-track assistant professor to teach software engineering classes to meet current demand and drive future growth. Ideal candidates will possess a passion for teaching and a willingness to advance the department’s research, service, and outreach goals. This is a nine-month position (mid-August through mid-May), with faculty teaching three courses each semester and having an active research and service agenda. Opportunities to conduct independent studies and supervise research and thesis activities are available. Faculty regularly teach Special Topics courses in areas of personal interest. Summer teaching opportunities for additional compensation are available. A terminal degree in a position-relevant discipline must be completed by August 1, 2021.
Primary areas of teaching emphasis are graduate and undergraduate courses in software engineering. Areas of interest include the following:
- Undergraduate Software Engineering I/II
- Software Project Management
- Software Systems Engineering
- Software Design
- Software Development (programming)
- Other topics in the field
