Enterprise Application Engineer - ERP

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
UVU is looking for an experienced application engineer to join our systems administration team implementing digital transformation where they will:
Install, configure, and maintain operating efficiency and stability of ERP systems. Ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data and respond to outages and other issues. Automate software deployment processes by releasing incremental updates and developing automation tools. Improve communication and collaboration to enable rapid product development relating to ERP systems by serving as the liaison between the development, operations, and systems administration teams. Coordinate with stakeholders and department leadership to plan, design, and schedule the implementation of all software release updates, hardware, and operating system updates. Develop and enhance processes and technical documentation, create back-up procedures, test plans, and reports. Increase customer responsiveness by performing application administration activities such as monitor application performance, optimizing access, and security access, anticipate and correcting system operational issues before their occurrence. Create more stable operating environments by continuously improving the infrastructure to be easily deploy-able and scale able. Troubleshoot issues. Maintain advanced knowledge of agile methodology, development processes, and programming languages.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field plus 4 years of experience related to the key roles and responsibilities OR any combination of education and experience totaling 8 years.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of industry standard methods and best practices in systems administration
Advanced knowledge of server hardware, virtualization, operating systems, and systems level services
Strong knowledge of programming languages (i.e. Java, JavaScript, Python, .Net, PowerShell, SQL)
Strong knowledge of storage infrastructure, systems, and interfaces
Knowledge of CICD methodologies
Knowledge of container deployments (i.e. Docker, Salt, Kubernetes, Helm)
Knowledge of Oracle database systems
Knowledge of multiple-tier application architecture
Knowledge of security, backups, and disaster recovery
Knowledge of clustering, redundant systems, and high availability
Strong knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, and load balancing
Knowledge of databases and various scripting languages for systems automation
Knowledge of ERP systems deployment

Skills:
Skill in problem solving, analysis, ingenuity, and research
Skill in organizational planning, prioritization, and attention to detail
Skill in communication, training, mentoring, customer service, and interpersonal relations
Skill in scripting, documentation, and use of Office applications
Skill in project management and strategic planning

Pay Range: $76,177 - $95,222
