Rappahannock Community
College (RCC), a two-campus institution serving a rural and diverse
12-county area in the Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia seeks
applicants for Coordinator of Learning Resource Centers. This
position is an administrative faculty appointment. Excellent

Rappahannock Community College is seeking a visionary to transform our libraries into centers for student academic engagement. The Coordinator of Learning Resource Centers (LRC) reports to the Assistant Vice President of Instruction, and is responsible for supervising the full services provided by the Rappahannock Community College Learning Resource Centers and the Richmond County Public Library (RCPL). The Coordinator supervises and coordinates all LRC/RCPL programs and services, including management of digital and non-digital information resources, staff, Student Learning Desks, and provision of appropriate support services for distance education classes at the Glenns and Warsaw Campuses and all other sites where the college provides instructional services. The Coordinator also supports Instructional Technology, Student Development and College Navigators to provide first class service to students. The Coordinator also develops, implements and evaluates short and long term plans for the LRC/RCPL, and related goals and objectives consistent with the college’s and RCPL’s missions. Position will maintain a schedule at both campuses. Finalists will be asked to complete a work sample.
KSA’s/Required Qualifications
Master's
degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library
Association accredited institution. Significant knowledge of
library, information, and media services, and the management of
such services and associated new and emerging technological
systems. Significant knowledge of and skill in the use of automated
library systems, including a firm understanding of electronic
cataloging, electronic data/catalog management and other library
database management systems. Demonstrated ability to provide a
variety of college-wide supports in areas such as research,
technology and in-class teaching. Demonstrated ability to
creatively problem-solve, and work collaboratively and
independently as appropriate. Demonstrated ability to complete
special projects. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
both orally and in writing. Knowledge of academic accreditation
requirements, assessment strategies and techniques to examine
learners' acquisition of information literacy skills. Must be
comfortable with change and a rapidly changing technological
environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent
professional experience in an academic or public library.
Additional education in assessment, instructional systems
technology and/or information management systems at the masters or
doctorate level preferred.
