Position Summary:

The Director of Clinical Trials Initiatives is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities for Clinical Trials Initiatives. This includes the end to end management of the implementation of core and ancillary research applications and processes to encompass workflows, technology integration and successful evaluation. This position will also be responsible for establishing, meeting and continuously monitoring the relevant goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives for UW Clinical Trials. While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the position's major responsibility is directing the day-to-day operations, process improvements, and human resource management. The Director works closely with operational stakeholder leaders (clinical, research, IS, bioinformatics and administrative), and is accountable for coordination of on time, on budget and high-quality
implementations and continual enhancements of core and/or ancillary research applications across the enterprise and beyond it. This Director will also serve as a key member of the ACRES Accreditation Team and the Clinical Trials Leadership Team. The Director of Clinical Trials Initiatives serves as the programmatic and operational leader for systems that support enterprise-wide clinical trials functionality and is responsible to the Chief Clinical Research Officer and Chief Bioinformatics Officer and works closely with UW Health and SMPH employees and leaders.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Master's degree required. Degree in a health care, IT, business or sciences field preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required:
-10 years of experience in execution of strategic initiatives in health care or research
-5 years of progressive management experience
-Experience in clinical systems, quality and innovation

Preferred:
-Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology or device industry
