Job Description Summary
The Department of Clinical Sciences at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants to fill a full-time, 12-month appointment. Depending upon experience, qualifications and interest, the successful candidate may be appointed to either a tenure-track (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) or non-tenure track (Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) position in Small Animal Internal Medicine.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in teaching, research, and clinical service in the Small Animal Teaching Hospital. Teaching responsibilities include the clinical and didactic instructional activities of the professional veterinary medicine and postgraduate training programs related to small animal internal medicine. Clinical service and research responsibilities are negotiable and will depend on the successful candidate’s interests and the type of appointment, i.e. clinical vs. tenure track appointment. There is ample opportunity to participate in established research programs within the department and college.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree and be a Diplomate of ACVIM or ECVIM at the time employment begins. Applicants that are qualified to sit for certifying ACVIM examination will be considered. Eligibility for veterinary licensure in the State of Alabama is required. For a tenure track position, an advanced degree or advanced training with research experience is desired. The candidate must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of the appointment and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Excellent communication skills with clients, students and colleagues are expected. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and credentials.
