Job Description Summary
The Department of Theatre at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position in theatre at the rank of Assistant Professor of Acting and Voice, beginning fall semester 2021. The position involves instruction in foundational, intermediate, and advanced acting courses, acting for the camera, a four-semester sequence of voice and speech performance in the BFA Performance Program, and coaching in Voice, Speech, and Dialects in selected plays in the department’s six production season. In addition, there are opportunities for directing, outreach, and research. The Department of Theatre embraces Auburn University’s commitment to increasing diversity among its administrators, faculty, staff, and students. Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a terminal degree in performance at the time of appointment, two years of teaching voice/acting in a university setting, experience and qualifications necessary to teach voice and speech for the actor in a BFA studio, and a documented record of professional experience in performance. Ability to work with and collaborate as a member of a well-established artistic team is essential. The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Excellent communication skills are required.

The department is housed in a dedicated theatre facility including a 365-seat house with proscenium/thrust stage, a black box performance space, studio theatre, design studio, fully equipped shops, two dance/movement studios, a smart classroom, and computer lab.
