Position Title
Director of Counseling and Health Services
Job Description
The Director of Counseling and Health Services directs and oversees services within the Counseling Center and Esry Student Health Center, and collaborates with Recreation Services; coordinates health and wellness programming and provides counseling. Job duties include, directs and supervises counseling and health center personnel, services, activities and budgets; provides individual and group counseling and supervision; provides needed educational programs and presentations for students with ongoing assessment efforts; gives academic presentations as requested on topics related to health and wellness; incorporate multicultural and social justice concepts into health services and programming; represents MWSU with Partners in Prevention; conducts regular assessment of alcohol and drug use on campus; and develops programming, presentations, and plans to reduce alcohol and drug use on campus.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or related field; and five years of progressively responsible supervisory experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Licensed Professional Counselor ( LPC ) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of confidentiality issues and legalities surrounding FERPA, HIPPA, Title IX, VAWA, etc.
Physical Demands
Sedentary work; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
