JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
A one year postdoctoral research position with option to renew for another year. Research to be conducted in a synthetic chemistry laboratory. I am in great need of a postdoc who can be another leader to my young first year graduate students during this time of confusion. Also, when WPI reopens, I will need someone to help me get my research up and going quickly again.
JOB DESCRIPTION
A full-time postdoctoral research position in synthetic chemistry is available. The applicant should demonstrate experience in reaction methodology development and possess the following skills: small molecule synthesis, large-scale preparation, column chromatography, analytical skills including NMR, GC, MS, HPLC, LCMS, IR, TLC, etc. General knowledge of retrosynthetic analysis, catalysis, and synthetic chemistry is required. The position is for 1 year, with the option to renew after an annual review. Interest in chemical biology and protein work is also encouraged.
Responsibilities:
-able to execute reaction design, set up, workup, and analysis
-design a route to a small molecule
-offer insights and original opinions on reaction methodology, medicinal chemistry, and organic chemistry
-purify compounds with flash chromatography or Biotage
-analyze compounds by NMR, HPLC, GC, GCMS, LCMS
-lead and teach younger graduate students organic chemistry
Requirements:
