Job Purpose

Lewis & Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time grant funded Program Coordinator position for the implementation of the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) grant to reduce the incidence of gender-based violence on campus. This position is funded through September 2021, with a high probability of continuing through March 2022.. The Program Coordinator will provide day-to-day management and oversight for grant program and projects. The Program Coordinator has responsibility for development and implementation of program requirements and coordinating all grant-related activities. The Program Coordinator collaborates with internal and external stakeholders and organizations; directs timelines and tracks progress of program goals and objectives; reports progress on goals and objectives; and is ultimately responsible for attainment of goals and objectives.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the College and its partners through the final year of the grant. Develop a detailed timeline for activities and implementation.

  • Provide oversight and coordination of grant activities. Facilitate development and ongoing collaboration of Interpersonal Violence Prevention Team. Implement prevention programming. Collaborate with internal and external partners (e.g., law enforcement and victim advocacy agency) to provide training for campus staff.

  • Coordinate implementation and assessment of bystander intervention program.

  • Assess and address the needs of underserved populations (e.g., students of color, LGBTQ+ students, students with disabilities, students with limited English proficiency) related to gender-based violence.

  • Attend required Technical Training Institutes, scheduled webinars, conference calls, and other required training.

  • Communicate with the Office of Violence Against Women about project status and requests of modification.

  • Manage grant budget in partnership with the Business Office and the Office of Sponsored Research.

  • Ensure grant objectives are met and outcomes tracked through coordinating assessment and data collection efforts; tracking progress on program goals and objectives; and creating and submitting necessary reports.

  • Other duties related to grant project implementation as assigned.

  • Ability to honor and work with all identities and individuals, particularly those who are underrepresented in the country and/or at Lewis & Clark College.



Must Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health or closely related field.

  • Minimum three years of related professional experience in an educational or social services setting.

  • Successful track record of managing a grant-funded project or program and meeting or exceeding objectives, including managing budgets and tracking financial expenditures, gathering data, compiling information, and preparing reports.

  • Work experience and/or general knowledge of sexual assault, domestic/dating violence and stalking; and evidence-based practices in violence prevention.

  • Excellent organizational, communication and coalition building skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to honor and work effectively with staff, students, administration and the community, including individuals of diverse identities, life experiences and abilities.

  • Ability to travel for grant-related training and institutes as necessary..

  • Technical proficiency using a computer and software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.



Nice to Haves
  • Prior experience with OVW Campus Grant Program

  • Master’s degree in related field

  • Certified Health Education Specialist (C.H.E.S.)

  • Completion of 40-hour advocacy training program

  • Minimum five years related experience in an educational or social service setting

  • Experience instructing bystander Intervention programs
