The University of Washington (UW) School of Medicine (SoM), Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking faculty who are dually trained in emergency medicine and critical care to provide clinical service within the emergency department and critical care units. Successful applicants will be board certified in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, have ECMO expertise and experience, highly motivated, and academically focused with evidence of established scholarship. This is an outstanding opportunity to join an already talented and vibrant emergency medicine /critical care team.  The UW SoM, Harborview Medical Center (HMC) and the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) offer excellent, wide ranging and unique opportunities for faculty development and academic growth including collaboration with the UW Department of Biomedical Education and Medical Education (BIME), the Center for Leadership in Medical Education (CLIME), and the WWAMI Institute for Simulation in Healthcare (WISH), and a large number of established collaborations across emergency medicine, critical care, and several other disciplines and entities. There are wide-ranging research opportunities including those focused on Resuscitation Science, EMS, Injury Prevention, Public and Population Health, Simulation and others.   Full-time faculty may be recruited at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor commensurate with experience. 

This faculty will work at the HMC or UWMC Emergency Department and the HMC or UWMC critical care units. HMC is the only Level I Trauma Center for a 4-state region and has an annual ED volume of approximately 66,000 patients per year. The UWMC is a tertiary/quaternary care center with focus in cancer, transplant medicine, cardiovascular disease, neurological disorders, and high-risk OB, and with an emergency department annual volume of approximately 30,000.
