FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Hunter College Center for Cancer Health Disparities Research (CCHDR) is inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor / Associate Professor level. The CCHDR is supported by an NCI-funded Collaborative Partnership to Advance Cancer Health Equities (CPACHE) U54 center grant, and offers a vibrant and collegial environment of faculty, staff, and students from across numerous disciplines. Candidates from any relevant scientific field will be considered, including but not limited to the basic sciences, behavioral sciences, epidemiology or public health. Commitment to teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds at Hunter College is required. The successful candidate will be expected to teach basic and advance courses in their area of expertise.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

 

The successful candidate must have a productive program of research related to cancer, with an emphasis on cancer health disparities, broadly defined. Areas within cancer research can range from surveillance, risk factors, prevention, survivorship, screening, therapeutics, interventions, and end-of-life care. Evidence of previous, ongoing, and/or strong potential for securing extramural research funds is a must.

 

COMPENSATION

Salary commensurate with experience.
