Position Summary:

The Wisconsin Crop Innovation Center (WCIC) building is a 100,000 square foot agricultural biotechnology/greenhouse complex. The building houses the state-of-the-art transgenic plant laboratories and greenhouses which supports unprecedented scientific advancement opportunities and improve plants for humans, livestock, and the environment. The center has a high throughput transformation pipeline capable of generating transgenic and edited plants and needs a Lab Prep Tech to assist with our sorghum and maize plant transformation process. The candidate selected for this role will focus on assisting in our transformation department with tissue culture, plant transformation, and some general media prep duties. Position functions under the general supervision of a technical supervisor. Prior plant tissue culture experience is highly desired.
