Elon University’s Department of Performing Arts invites applications for a Director-Choreographer in Music Theatre full-time lecturer or tenure-track position depending on experience and qualifications beginning mid-August 2021.

Graduate degree, in theatre, music theatre, or dance/choreography is required; we welcome applications from candidates who bring a broadly integrated and interdisciplinary perspectives. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate significant contributions in teaching and directing or choreography at the University and/or professional level.

Primary responsibilities include directing and choreographing mainstage productions and teaching Music Theatre Choreography, Dance for Musical Stage sequence, as well as Music Theatre Scene Study. Experience in playwrighting, content creation, entrepreneurship, and/or devising is a plus. Other courses relating to the candidate’s areas of expertise in music theatre and the Elon Core Curriculum will also be offered Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of people and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are encouraged to identify their experiences in their cover letter.
