Position Title: Digital Marketing Strategist Division/Department: Institutional Advancement Location Albany Campus, Albany, OR Job Summary:

The Digital Marketing Strategist is responsible for coordinating digital marketing and communication campaign tactics for Linn-Benton Community College, serving as an ambassador for both the department and the college. This position will be responsible for producing creative digital content, and planning, implementing, and monitoring digital campaigns across all networks and platforms, furthering LBCC’s initiatives by increasing brand loyalty and awareness, supporting enrollment, positioning the institution as integral to the community, and helping the LBCC Foundation to build public goodwill, earn resources, and sustain its excellent relationships with community and government leaders. The ideal candidate is someone with a high degree of diplomacy, excellent communication skills, experience in digital production, website and project management, customer relations, videography and photography, and social media management. In addition to being an outstanding communicator, the person in this position should demonstrate excellent analytical skills and good judgment.

Required Qualifications:

Education and Training: Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Training in digital marketing, web content creation, videography, new media, or communications is desirable. Directly related experience may substitute for two years of formal education.

Experience: Requires a minimum of one year of related experience, preferably including digital marketing, videography, communications, or marketing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, a solid understanding of the digital marketing landscape, creative content creation, messaging strategy, strong analytical skills, and a learning mindset in order to keep abreast of ever-changing digital algorithms and technologies. Must have demonstrated success designing and producing effective and engaging content. Must have the ability to produce digital assets according to industry standards. Must have excellent attention to detail and superior organizational/project-management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to establish positive relationships with internal and external clients. Must be a flexible self-starter who can handle multiple priorities, and work with limited direction and oversight in a fast-paced environment, while under pressure. Must have experience with HTML and CSS or be willing to learn. Scripting, videography, podcasting, and post-production skills are highly desirable. Working knowledge of social media channels and audiences is highly desirable. Must be willing to learn, or have previous experience with the College’s website content management system (OU Campus) and its media tracking software (Meltwater), tagging technologies (like Google Tag Manager or Adobe DTM ), and setting up A/B tests. Experience with search engine optimization, paid search, paid social, or digital ads is a plus.

A commitment to universal design and accessibility principles related to websites, social sites, and multimedia content is required. A commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work is primarily performed out of office with very diverse community and civic groups, corporations and individuals to raise funds for the foundation. In addition, will maintain an on-campus office. Extensive local travel is required. Work hours may vary and frequently evening and weekend work is required. Requires ability to use a computer and communicate with a diverse population. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.

Essential Duties:

Responsible for the general management and creative content creation of digital marketing and communications, including the LBCC website, social media channels, paid media campaigns, email campaigns, videography, and podcasting to ensure timely and effective completion according to department and college goals, and in alignment with brand.

Meets with internal clients to understand their strategic goals, insights, and communications objectives and barriers; reviews digital work requests and clarifies specific requirements of each project.

Develops website and social media marketing plans that further the goals and objectives of the Marketing and Communications Department’s annual plan, and which meet the needs of other LBCC departments when requested.

Updates, monitors and optimize engagement on all college social media sites (currently Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn) and ad performance on all platforms as compared to Key Performance Indicators.

Tracks website performance using Google Analytics and other tools; analyzes website activity to measure the success of digital campaigns against short- and long-term goals.

Writes, edits, tests, and distributes messages in digital formats that may include website and video content, fact sheets, talking points, newsletters, advertisements, demand-generation social media posts and more.

Creates compelling digital assets that reflect strong understanding of layout, typography and color theory and that translates to all screen sizes and operating systems including web, video, digital billboards, animated graphics, and social media.

Ensures all digital assets adhere to branding and style guides.

Creates storyboards and produces or oversees production of videos and podcasts.

Assists with event strategy, signage, and coordination in collaboration with team members.

Manages workflow, works with external vendors if needed, and delivers assignments in a timely manner with flexibility to care for special project and time sensitive requests.

Responds in a timely manner and with excellent customer service to web requests from across the college.

May train, assign and review work of student employees and interns as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary range is $57,927-$81,261 for a 248-day annual contract plus comprehensive benefits. Management/exempt starting salaries normally fall within the middle of the range.
