CNR Fiscal Operations Manager


Location: Moscow

Division/College: College of Natural Resources

Employee Category: Exempt

Pay Range: $54,433 annually or higher depending on experience

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Position Summary:
Provides oversight and comprehensive financial support services of fiscal operations for the College of Natural Resources. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer; this position will ensure effective and appropriate use of financial resources including compliance requirements for a variety of funding types including, but not limited to, federal, state, and private sources; participate in organizational management and policy decisions regarding fiscal processes; participate as a team member of financial specialists in the college; provide supervision of financial technical staff; and serve as liaison with University administration for financial issues.


Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field or equivalent.
- Five years of relevant experience in financial or accounting management in higher education or government institutions.
- Two years of experience directly supervising employees.
OR
- Seven years of relevant experience in financial or accounting management in higher education or government institutions
- Two years of experience directly supervising employees.

- Experience in analyzing and interpreting financial information; maintaining accounting systems; budget development and monitoring; and reconciling accounts related to compliance and application of federal and/or state polices and regulations


Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven organizational skills; ability to work with a high level of accuracy with acute attention to detail; and meet required deadlines.
- Knowledge of University of Idaho policies and procedures as they related to financial policies and procedures.
- Experience with financial databases, management and reporting systems such as Banner Finance and Argos and other office management software such as Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Knowledge in grants and contract management.
- Ability to work independently and within team settings as needed
