Assistant Professor, School Psychology
The School of Education (SOE), Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor of School Psychology. Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses in the School Psychology Department, advising, participation in University, Departmental, and SOE committees, and establishing a scholarly agenda. Interested candidates would be joining a supportive faculty focused on student development and learning. We seek a candidate who will complement and possibly expand our strengths in areas that support the institutional mission of educating students for lives of leadership and service for the common good. - Teach 18 credits during the academic year
- Collaborate with department and School of Education colleagues
- Advise candidates, which includes guiding them through their capstone projects
- Serve on various Department, School of Education, and Gonzaga University committees
- Produce scholarly contributions to the field
- A Ph.D., Ed.D, and/or Psy.D in School Psychology or related area.
- Candidates who are ABD will be considered as long as their degree is in hand by August 1, 2021.
- Graduation from a NASP-approved program.
- Established record of working with children, adolescents, and families.
- Demonstrated interest in serving as a mentor to students seeking advanced degrees in school psychology.
- Evidence of effective, collaborative engagement.
- An emerging record of scholarly accomplishments and service.
- Demonstrated ability and interest in leading peers on a project on a long-term basis as part of a shared leadership for a program and school
- Established record in working with underrepresented communities, practiced familiarity with underrepresented and first-generation communities of color
- Licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in WA State.
- Graduation from an APA-accredited program.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with community stakeholders.
- Holds or eligible to hold NCSP credential.
- Record of working within a K-12 educational system.
- Evidence of teaching excellence.
