GENERAL SUMMARY
The Manager, Procurement is responsible for executing the overall procurement strategy of the University by implementing best practices that enable business units to maximize the value they receive from suppliers to meet their strategic objectives. The Manager, Procurement will work closely with the legal department to administer the contract management system, including the origination of contracts, routing, review, execution, repository and data tracking and reporting The Manager, Procurement is also responsible for managing the purchase card and credit card programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drawing out full specifications from inexperienced end users, researching suppliers and executing RFIs (request for information) that require suppliers to meet all our conditions or be eliminated from consideration
- Tracking and managing supplier performance and relationships
- Support user training for procurement programs, managing the programs, data and outcomes
- Overseeing purchase card and credit card programs for University users
- Managing furniture, equipment and supplies standards to leverage pricing and efficiencies
- Inventory management, reporting and analysis as needed
- Administering policy-related queues within the procurement system, making arrangements for training and additional communications to address non-compliance
- Creating regular and ad-hoc reports, presentations, and communications of procurement activities to support departmental leadership financial management success and requests
- Contacting suppliers and internal departments to resolve systemic issues
- Addressing escalated issues/questions from internal customer within agreed upon timeframes and documenting resolutions
- Recommending and supporting implementation of continuous improvement opportunities
- Provide management and daily oversight of the University’s travel program; assist end users with account set-up, questions and troubleshooting as needed.
- Ensure compliance with guidelines with procurement policies and programs to include expense processing, invoices, consulting agreements and travel policy; informs senior leadership of inconsistences in policy and processes for evaluation and correction.

- Knowledge of the procurement process to include data collection and analysis, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), effective sourcing strategies, contract management and benefits measurement
- Must have a commitment to supporting the delivery of a strong educational and student experience
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Finance, MBA a plus with Procurement or Supply Chain specific specialization courses also preferred
- 3-5+ years’ experience in Procurement or Supply Chain departments.
- Demonstrable experience in interacting with multiple customers (e.g., business units) to successfully deliver procurement services to meet their business needs
- Understanding of and ability to lead cross-functional change management processes required
- Solid knowledge about strategic sourcing methodology and tools
- Demonstrable experience of identifying, prioritizing, and resolving issues
- Experience with RFx Development
- Coupa eProcurement and Contracts Management or other procurement software experience a plus
