The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for multiple full-time tenure-track faculty positions in the Mechanical Engineering Program and Materials Science Engineering Program. (Requisition # 54422). 

Candidates in a broad range of mechanical engineering will be considered, including but not limited to, industry 4.0, advanced manufacturing, structural dynamics and acoustics, simulation and applied mechanics, thermal-fluid science, bio-medical and nano-technology, and materials science. Rank, tenure, salary and startup funding commensurate with credentials.

The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering currently has 44 faculty members and an enrollment of about 1290 undergraduate and 400 graduate students. The Department presently offers an ABET accredited B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, M.S., Master of Engineering and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and M.S., Master of Engineering and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering. The Department has research focus areas in Structural Dynamics, Advanced Manufacturing, Thermal-Fluids Science, Applied and Computational Mechanics, Nanotechnology and Materials Science & Engineering.

The successful candidates will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate engineering courses specific to their specialty areas (as noted above), develop externally funded research programs, advise graduate and undergraduate students, publish research results in professional journals, and participate in professional service activities such as student career mentoring, advising of student organizations, serving on departmental, college and university committees, performing outreach activities, etc. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in curriculum and course development

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  prior to effective date of appointment a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
