Program in International and Comparative Education

 

Position: The Program in International and Comparative Education (IC&E) at Teachers College, Columbia University, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position. We are seeking candidates with expertise in the areas of education in emergencies and/or refugee education. We are especially interested in candidates who focus on teacher education and professional development in the aforementioned contexts.

A successful applicant for this position will have a record of productive research and demonstrated competence at teaching and advising graduate students that complements and extends the scholarly diversity of the program.

 

Responsibilities: Develop a significant program of research; teach graduate level courses in international educational development and comparative and international education; advise both masters and doctoral students; and supervise research for masters and doctoral students.

 

Qualifications: Earned doctorate in international and comparative education or related discipline; evidence of research productivity and potential for extramural funding; ability to teach core courses in international and comparative education, as well as courses relevant to education in emergencies, refugee education, and teacher education and professional development; commitment to excellence in teaching and working with students from diverse backgrounds and especially those from groups historically underrepresented in higher education.
