The Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) Department at the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan invites applications for the open tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 15, 2021. Applicants should have an earned PhD degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field by the appointment date. Applicants with background in all fields of Industrial and Systems Engineering are encouraged to apply. More important than the specific area of research of the applicant is the ability to initiate and sustain a strong externally funded research program. A competitive startup package is available which includes an initial course release. The successful candidate will teach ISE courses related to their area of expertise; establish a line of peer-reviewed and externally funded research; advance professional relationships with the industry; and, provide service to the department, school, university, as well as professional organizations in their field. They will also support efforts in student recruitment and retention, continuous academic program refinement, and new program development. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Review of applicants will begin in the fall of 2020 and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
