Position Information

Vacancy Number: S-00657 Position Title: Graphic Designer Classification Title: Graphic Designer Department: Marketing Employment Type: Full-Time Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Marketing staff and AUM clients to develop effective visual communications strategies to reach targeted audiences.

Design publications, media, and other assets for clients across the University.

Produce artwork that is error-free and on time in accordance with AUM branding.

Provide graphic design for AUM web site, e-newsletters, and other web publications and new emerging digital media as needed.

Daily review of project workspace and checking pending task deadlines.

Creation/delivery of accurate designs on schedule.

Demonstrate willingness to help initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and deliver projects.

Identify potential negative public relations outcomes from various issues and take steps to minimize negative impact.

Continue to develop best practices for design across various mediums.

Ability to shift direction on projects as needed while still maintaining required deadlines and requirements.

Help on projects involving large scale planning and installation as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of Adobe CC (ex: InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop)
Strong sense of design for a variety of mediums
Knowledge of the print production process
Strong knowledge of typography best practices
Excellent time management skills/ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Highly organized and understanding of project management principles
Open mind
Ability to identify and resolve printing problems

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, media, publications or related area with a combination of 2-4 years experience.
