Job Summary

The Enrollment Specialist II supports the Office of Records and Registration with routine and moderately complex enrollment processes and answering questions from prospective students, the university community and the general public. Assists with the coordination of one or more operational or functional areas of the department such as record management, schedule reconciliation, academic standing administration, registration issue analysis, student hold management, third party vendor troubleshooting and collaboration with other departments regarding commencement activities.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

•Assists with the coordination of one or more operational or functional areas of the department such as record management, schedule reconciliation, academic standing administration, registration issue analysis, student hold management, third party vendor troubleshooting and collaboration with other departments regarding commencement activities.

•Evaluates petitions, documents and spreadsheets pertaining to transient student registration, residency, class schedule offerings, transcripts, test scores, and appeal documents.

•May determine eligibility of applicants for transient admissions or residency reclassification by interpreting application materials in compliance with established policies.

•Ensures prompt and accurate data entry of registration data into Banner. Periodically completes audits to identify and correct data entry errors.

•May review, enter, and confirm the accuracy of academic scheduling information, assists with coordination of room scheduling requests and course changes, and verifies information in SIS software and Resource 25.

•Corresponds with program leaders and chairs concerning problems with the registration overrides, semester schedule of classes; recommends solutions and assists with determining appropriate changes to procedures for the continued effectiveness of the registration or course scheduling operation.

•Maintains records of changes and trends. Assists with compiling and analyzing of statistics of the same.

•Participates in the review, recommendations, and implementation of procedures related to departmental processing.

•Scans and indexes paper documents.

•May provide training and development services to increase workforce competence, employee engagement, or organizational capability.

•May serve as a team leader, oversee the work of lower level personnel in assigned area.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Four years of relevant full-time general office experience.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.

Work experience in a higher education setting.

Experience with Ellucian Banner.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of general office procedures.

Knowledge of FERPA.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects when numerous and diverse demands are involved.

Ability to operate personal computers with proficiency and learn new applications and systems.

Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.

Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.

Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational structure.

Ability to effectively manage the work of others by providing information, guidance and motivation.

Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures consistently.

Ability to analyze and solve problems, draw valid conclusions, and/or develop appropriate alternatives where applicable.

Salary Range

$38,000 = $40,000
