Job Description:

The Coordinator, Career and Technical Education Student Resources (CTE) is a 12-month professional/managerial position. The Coordinator will perform administrative duties requiring a knowledge of the educational programs, support services, industry certifications, and additional resources available to aid in technical skill attainment, retention, program completion, and job placement of students enrolled in Career and Technical Education programs. Additionally, the Coordinator will provide support to students enrolled in the Career and Technical Education programs, a ssist students with meeting program completion requirements including TABE requirements, work closely with College departments and community-based organizations to assist in identifying resources available to students, work in partnership with Institutional Research to meet industry certification reporting requirements, assist in distributing support services to students, such as scholarships, and assist students with resume writing and job readiness as well as other needs in order for students to achieve job placement. Other duties to be performed, include but are not limited to, maintaining appropriate industry credential records and processes student credential reimbursement requests, assisting with organizing and setting up job fairs. Participates in job fairs as needed, communicating information to potential participants about the services of the activities of the Career and Technical Education Student Resources section under the Carl Perkins Grant, serving as a liaison with College faculty and staff to promote workforce programs and industry certifications, assisting with providing updates to departmental web page, and assisting with the identification of programs with low placement rates and coordinates with academic departments to provide resources to assist those students with gaining employment in their respective field. T his position reports to the Director, Career and Technical Education Student Resources.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or a career and technical education program. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, business, or related field; experience in workforce development, staffing, and employment; documented public speaking experience; demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills; and demonstrated ability to proficiently use MS Office Suite (Word, Publisher, Excel, and Outlook).

Annual Salary: $37,772.00
