 Northern Michigan University is seeking applications for a Senior Associate Director of Admissions-Transfer Recruitment Management. The position directs the university’s on-campus undergraduate transfer recruitment strategy and activity. Create and implement a strategic plan. Provide resources and training for staff recruiting students with prior college credit. Collaborate with Global Campus, Registrar, Academic Advising and others. Serve on the Admissions leadership team, providing back-up support for systems and operations and other leadership functions. Supervise admissions counselors. Create and administer policies and procedures for designated programs. Serve as a department leader in executive director’s absence.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. Valid motor vehicle driver's license. Five years of work experience including the following:

-four years of direct work experience in college admissions with multiple student population types; -one year of direct experiences with any of these: articulation agreements, transfer guides, transfer credit tools and resources;
-one year of experience related to higher education student information systems or constituent relationship management (CRM) systems (beyond end-user); and
-one year of supervision of full-time staff.

Required knowledge/skills/abilities: Extensive knowledge of university programs, services and policies. Broad and detailed understanding of enrollment/transfer enrollment management principles, admissions policies, procedures, and accepted admissions practices, and ability to translate these to procedure and training protocols. Working knowledge of student information systems, electronic communications, web interfaces, and computer technologies; ability to learn new related technologies; and ability to provide department end-user training. Knowledge of principles and processes of academic advising for providing customer and personal service, for creation and maintenance of transfer guides and articulation agreements, as well as transfer partners and transfer student needs assessment to meet quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique and coordination of people and resources. Excellent oral and written communication and comprehension skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Time management skills including managing one's own time and the time of others. Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Ability to coordinate efforts and work as part of an admissions team, working cooperatively with staff within the department, as well as with other departments, and ability to provide leadership to people and projects.
Demonstrated ability to operationalize recruitment strategies and meet recruitment goals.
Ability to make decisions and problem-solve. Ability to serve in a mentoring role to junior staff, provide leadership and supervision, and assist in goal creation and staff development.

The position is Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm with evening and weekend work required. The targeted salary range is $58,000-$62,000.
